As part of the UK Government’s commitment to eliminating Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG), the Government are launching an Honour-Based Abuse Campaign, to raise awareness of some of the illegal and harmful behaviours that are still prevalent today.

Honour-Based Abuse is any incident that involves violence, abuse, threats, control, or intimidation where ‘honour’ is used as an excuse.

Our Executive Director, Natasha Rattu, is featured in the official campaign film, alongside Broadcaster and Women’s Activist, Nadia Ali – to help define and debunk myths associated with the following forms of ‘Honour’-based abuse:

Abuse is abuse – no matter who the perpetrator is or how they try to justify it. No one has the right to control or harm you, emotionally or physically.

We are proud to support this initiative and are committed to placing the spotlight on the support available to anyone affected.

If you or someone you know is affected by Honour-Based Abuse, reach out for help. You are not alone. There is support available for you.

Call the Karma Nirvana helpline on 0800 5999 247 for free and confidential support.
