The Sanctuary Support Scheme focuses on providing comprehensive support to individuals who have experienced or are currently facing Honour Based Abuse or Forced Marriage. Operating primarily in Leeds, this service caters to survivors by offering emotional, practical, and advocacy assistance to help individuals feel safer in their homes.
I don’t know what I would do without this service. My children also regularly tell me how grateful they are for the support.
– Service User
The Sanctuary Support Team (SST) was introduced following the Domestic Abuse Act to ensure those living in safe accommodation are offered ongoing 1:1 support. This is a multi-disciplinary team working across multiple organisations, specialising in working with victim survivors from marginalised communities.
The SST works closely with Leeds Housing Options, to implement additional safety measures to increase security at a victim survivors home. However, please note – a person does not need Sanctuary Measures Installation, for the Karma Nirvana Worker to support them.
