Our letter to the Home Secretary

Letter regarding the government rejecting definition on Honour Based Abuse.

Urgent Appeal to the Home Secretary: Reconsidering a Statutory Definition for Honour-Based Abuse

Karma Nirvana is dedicated to ending Honour-Based Abuse (HBA) in the UK. We believe a critical step toward achieving this is the adoption of a statutory definition for HBA. Today, we wrote a letter to the Home Secretary, urging the government to reconsider this crucial matter.

At Karma Nirvana, our vision is clear: to end Honour-Based Abuse. We believe a statutory definition is a significant stride toward achieving this vision. It ensures victims are seen, heard, and protected, while perpetrators are held accountable.

We welcome the opportunity for the Home Secretary to meet our remarkable Survivor Ambassadors who provided evidence to the Committee. Meeting with Survivors provides an opportunity to listen to their experiences of Honour Based Abuse and understand why a statutory definition of Honour Based Abuse is so important to them.
