Overarching Objective of Training
Our specialist three-day training programme is designed to strengthen policing responses to Honour Based Abuse (HBA) and Forced Marriage (FM). Developed and delivered by experts, this course equips officers with the knowledge and tools to respond effectively, investigate confidently, and safeguard victims with empathy and understanding.
Key Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the cultural and social contexts in which Honour Based Abuse and Forced Marriage occur.
- Recognise key indicators of HBA and FM in cases presented to police services.
- Manage and investigate HBA and FM cases appropriately and safely.
- Identify and assess risk using our specialist Honour Based Abuse Risk Assessment.
- Understand and apply relevant law, policy, and guidance in HBA and FM cases.
- Develop safety strategies tailored to the unique needs of victims and survivors.
