Karma Nirvana Launches National Consultation for New Home Office–Commissioned HBA E-Learning Programme

Karma Nirvana has now begun the national consultation process for the e-learning modules, inviting input from stakeholders across government, statutory agencies, and the specialist and wider Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) sector.

A few weeks ago, Karma Nirvana was commissioned by the Home Office to develop a new suite of national e-learning modules on Honour-Based Abuse (HBA) and associated harmful practices. Karma Nirvana has now begun the national consultation process for the e-learning modules, inviting input from stakeholders across government, statutory agencies, and the specialist and wider Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) sector. This consultation will play a vital role in shaping the e-learning package, ensuring it reflects current challenges, emerging needs, and the collective expertise of professionals across the country.

The programme will provide statutory professionals across safeguarding sectors with the knowledge and confidence to identify, respond to, and prevent HBA.

The four-part e-learning package will cover:

Drawing on more than three decades of frontline expertise, Karma Nirvana will ensure the training is survivor-led, trauma-informed, and grounded in real-world safeguarding practice. The modules will be developed in close collaboration with the Survivor Ambassador Panel (SAP), ensuring lived experience remains at the heart of the content.

If you or your organisation would like to be involved in the consultation, please get in touch with us or fill out the survey.

This project represents an important step towards ensuring all professionals can recognise and respond to Honour-Based Abuse with confidence, clarity, and compassion.

The e-learning programme is due to launch in 2026, and the consultation survey will be open until 5th January 2026.
