Our Survivor Ambassador Programme (SAP) delivers a range of support services to victims disowned by their families and community. Isolation, loneliness and depression are common amongst honour abuse victims, and suicide rates within this group remain significantly higher than the national average.
The Survivor Ambassador Programme includes:
- A dedicated survivor website to connect survivors from around the country (coming soon)
- Become a member of the only survivor membership in the UK for victims of honour-based abuse and forced marriage
- We envisage on offering a three-day residential survivor empowerment programme
The Survivor Ambassador Programme has been designed to help survivors regain their self-confidence, give them the practical life skills to become independent, and facilitate a community of like-minded people to fill the gap left by an absent family.
“Having personally experienced family disownment, launching the Survivor Ambassador Programme is very close to my heart. This has been a vision for over a decade, and I am confident it will change lives and leave a lasting legacy.” Jasvinder Sanghera CBE
